ASOE Launch - Association of Safeguarding Officers in Education

ASOE Launch - Association of Safeguarding Officers in Education!

Posted on: 17th Jun 2019 by: ASOE

The ANME is proud to launch the Association of Safeguarding Officers in Education - ASOE!

Network Managers are often asked to assist with safeguarding issues and concerns in schools when they involve technology, consequently can become an important member of the team, albeit in an unofficial capacity.

As a result of this, there have been many discussions amongst ANME members and contacts over the years about the benefit of an independent forum for Safeguarding Officers in schools and colleges, one that is not visible in any way to the public, and where members are aware who else may be reading the content.

The ASOE will be providing a safe and secure online environment for members to communicate, seek assistance, or share best practice amongst peers. In addition to this, and perhaps more importantly, members will be able to find existing local cluster groups running meetings, or help start and promote their own.

The ASOE will run alongside the ANME and ADME, with the same aims and values. It is free to join, and member information will be treated confidentially and not shared with third parties.

Information about members’ environments will be collated, and the statistics will be shared with ASOE members, allowing them to see up to date popular solutions for a variety of needs and requirements.

The ASOE is free to join and is open to all Safeguarding Officers and Designated Safeguarding Leads that are employed by schools and colleges across the UK.

“Networking groups like the ASOE are a valuable resource to share best practice and new initiatives, as child protection issues are continually changing and we are faced with new challenges. Its good to share experiences with other professionals."

We invite all Safeguarding Officers and DSL’s in schools and colleges across the UK to join the ASOE here and help develop it into a bespoke networking group for safeguarding in education.
